Gym Jones Advanced Seminar

Sometime around five am this Sunday I will divide the french press between my thermos and coffee mug, finish loading the car, hold my two favorite people one more time and point it east for Salt Lake City to spend the following six days with some of my other favorite people. I've spent the last week covering the last minute details with my athletes, my colleagues at work and most importantly my family for my week long absence while I attend the Gym Jones advanced seminar. For well over a year now I have been specially preparing for this seminar and I couldn't be more excited that it is finally here. In doing so I've fielded a number of questions:
"How many trips to Gym Jones is this for you?"
I had to dig back through my public training journal to get the exact number but it appears this is my 11th visit to Gym Jones. I am fortunate to have found my way there in 2009 and honored to continue to have the opportunity to grow as both an athlete and coach under their guidance. I consider the insight and knowledge they have imparted to me the catalyst for much of my success in climbing.
"Will you be a Gym Jones Certified Instructor after this?"
The Advanced Seminar is the third step towards certification. Successful completion of the advanced seminar will allow me to apply to be certified by Gym Jones. So though I will be much closer I will not yet be an instructor. I hope one day I can say I am.

I will do my best to detail my daily activities in my public training journal as well as blog posts like I did last year at the Intermediate seminar.

Haha! Blogger logged me on as my business partner... Anyhow...

Good luck sir and enjoy the process! I am eager to read your experiences on this path. As I've been told the road is a long one, but one I firmly believe it worth every step, trial and tribulation. Cheers!
